what can I expect coming to a speed dating event?

How does the matching work?

In the week leading up to an event, you’ll be sent a link to fill out a simple profile. Nobody will have access to this until the event begins. Once rounds start, the software will direct you on who you’re meeting, their profiles showing up one by one as you meet them. You don’t have to decide if you’d like to match with someone as soon as you meet them - you’ll have 24 hours after the event to decide. Contact details will only be shared where matches are mutual (ie, you both select ‘Connect’).

WHAT DETAILS WILL BE SHARED WITH ANY MATCHES I RECEIVE?

Your matches will receive your email address and phone number (if you have shared your phone number on your profile, which is not required). They will also be able to use the chat function on the dating software we use.

can i join a younger/older age category than my own?

If you are 2-3 years younger or older than the age category listed for an event but would still like to join, you’re welcome to chat to us. There may be another event in your own age category you can join, otherwise we are happy to give the 2-3 years grace for the event you’d like to attend.

I’m not a christian, can i still attend?

We do ask if you buy a ticket to attend, that you are genuinely serious about your relationship with God. Those who attend generally are wanting to date someone who shares their faith, so we ask that you respect this.

I am separated (not yet divorced), can I attend?

If you’re not officially divorced and still in the separation process, we kindly suggest you hold off attending one of our events. We understand every situation is different, but think it’s wise to get through this process, with plenty of time to heal, before beginning to date again. Thank you for your understanding and we pray for peace as you navigate this time.

What should i wear?

What would you wear to a dinner date? We suggest smart/casual at a minimum but feel free to dress up more! Wear whatever you’ll feel most yourself and most lovely in!

can you cater to my dietary requirements?

Please let us know if you have any allergies, as your safety is our priority. We offer a range of vegan, gluten and dairy free options but cannot cater to individual preferences such as keto, carnivore, paleo, Daniel’s Diet, FODMAP etc. Rest assured, there will be an amazing selection of home-cooked goodness and platters to keep you happy.

how often do you host events?

Currently there is no set schedule, as we feel things out. Roughly we aim to host two speed dating events for each age category, per year (in the Adelaide area). Eventually we’d like to host them more often and further afield, as well as other mingle events, so stay tuned.

I’m over 45 years old, are there any events for me?

We are desperately keen to host events for all age categories. We have attempted several times to run events for the 45-55 and 55-65 age groups, but unfortunately have only had interest from women, with not enough men to go ahead. We will continue working on this, and would love any help you can give in spreading the word and recruiting/encouraging along those lovely men, who ARE out there somewhere!

Where are the events held?

Currently our events are held at Coast and Vines Church in Willunga. We are working towards offering more events futher afield.
