Christian speed dating (20-30 years)

Well, what if we told you this could all change? Would you be willing to take a risk? Dust off some of that old hope you’ve laid aside?!
We know if you’ve been in the dating scene a while (or in an empty space with nothing but tumbleweeds and long lost dreams), it can be hard to find the motivation to put yourself out there again. But let this encourage you! From our past six events, we have two married couples (and a baby!), and at least a few dating couples (that we know of!). Come along…you never know where your bravery could lead!

- Meet 16+ dates in a traditional speed dating set-up (5 minutes each)
- A welcoming, beautiful and safe space with friendly hosts
- Delicious nibbles and 2x glasses of wine included (non-alcoholic drinks also available)
- Soft tunes humming away in the background
- Warm twinkly lights and flowers on tables
- An intermission where you can mix and mingle, eat and drink and generally have a merry time in each other’s company, guys and gals.
- An email with your matches sent to you the following day. You will be matched only where interest was mutual. (Matching will be done through an app you will have access to on the night. You’ll have until 5pm the next day to make your decisions on who you might like to match with).

Never been speed dating? Here’s what to expect…
1. BUY YOUR TICKET/get excited
Once you’ve purchased a ticket for your relevant age category (online only), about a week from the event you’ll receive an email with all relevant info and a link to fill out a simple online profile (we use a matching software to run rounds and send out matches…don’t worry, nobody will have access to your profile until rounds begin on the night, and email/contact details will only be given to those you’ve matched with).
2. Arrival
When you arrive (on time or early please!) we’ll welcome you at the door, give you a name tag and sign you in. You’ll be sent a link to confirm your attendance which will enable you to join in the rounds. There’ll be about 30 minutes of mingling while people are still arriving, where you can grab a drink and something yummy to eat, use the bathrooms and settle your nerves.
The room will be beautifully set out with soft lighting, colourful rugs, flowers on tables and lovely music. Our friendly hosts and helpers will be there to welcome you, chat with you and serve you food and drinks. Our goal is to make the space feel as safe, warm and inviting as possible.
3. speed dating begins!
Once everyone has arrived, we’ll introduce the night and begin the speed dating rounds. Depending on number of attendees (between 16-20 each of guys and gals), each round is about 5 minutes. Just enough time to each introduce yourself and share some basic ‘get to know you’ facts. There are fun question cards/conversation starters on the tables if you need!
After each round, the bell will ring, signalling to move onto the next table. Usually the girls stay seated while the guys move around the room. Your online app for the night will tell you who you’re meeting next/which table number to move to. For every person you meet, you can select ‘Date’, ‘Friend’, or no match. You can do this straight after meeting someone, or wait until after the event (you’ll have access to the profiles until the next day).
4. Intermission
Half-way through the rounds we’ll pause for intermission. Here you can refuel with delicious food and beverages, mingle, chat a little more to your new crush, or have a cheeky debrief with your pals. Your ticket price includes 2 glasses of wine, but there’ll also be plenty of non-alcoholic beverages available.
5. wRAP UP
After the rest of the rounds, we’ll wrap up the evening, reminding you to have your matches in by the following day (5pm). There will be a little more time for mingling if you like, plus more nibbles for the road…and any help packing things down is always appreciated (but certainly not expected!).
5. follow up/receive your matches
You will have until the following day to finalise who you’d like to match with. You’ll have access to their basic profiles to help with remembering. At 5pm, any matches you might have received will be sent to you via email. You’ll receive the email address (and phone number if they’ve listed it on their profile), of anyone you have mutually matched with. (ie Friend/Friend or Date/Date). If you didn’t receive any matches, you’ll also get a follow-up email letting you know.
From there - it’s up to you! But we encourage everybody to be proactive in following through in organising dates and taking the opportunity to chat and get to know each other more.
Oh, and PS - Don’t forget to get in touch down the track if you end up meeting the love of your life!! Hearing your stories gives us all the encouragement we need to keep going!
